Valentine Tea Dance
Saturday 08 February
Tea Dance 14.00 - 16:00
Come and join us for a lovely afternoon of ballroom and latin music, dancing, tea and cake!
There will be a variety of sequence and line dances, (which are set routines - usually 16 bars long that are repeated) plus invitations to dance freely to a range of music to include waltz, foxtrot, tango and cha cha cha with a few Ratpack classics thrown in!
Our lovely host Peter Meager will announce the type of dance before each song and helping you out alongside the Greenwich Dance team. A workshop will be held before hand for guests to learn the basic steps and refresh their memories.
The event is suitable for all ages and levels. No need to bring a partner - we can always help to pair you up - although couples are of course very welcome. Peter also encourages role reversal so don't think that just because you are man that you need to lead, or vice versa. He'll have you swapping in and out of those gender stereotypes before you can say 'equality'!
Ticket includes a cup of tea and a slice of cake.
Before the Tea Dance itself, our host Peter Meager will be leading a one hour workshop designed to give beginners (or those who feel a bit rusty) the chance to learn a few steps. He will concentrate on the four most popular dances: waltz, quickstep, cha cha cha and jive.
