Robert Clark

Robert's class is both technical and playful, moving fluidly between set, form based exercises and improvisation tasks. The class begins with exercises that develop awareness and articulate the connections of the body before building spatially and in intensity towards extended phrase work and partner combinations.

Robert Clark

Robert is an established performer, collaborator and teacher based in the U.K.

As a freelance performer Robert has worked with companies/choreographers including Cie Soit/Hans van der Broek, Sasha Waltz and guests, Vincent Dance Theatre, Charles Linehan, Fevered Sleep, Cie Felix Ruckert, Barebones, Ben Wright and Alleta Collins amongst others.

As a choreographer Robert seeks to extend his collaborative interest by focussing on the process of communication. Robert with his creative team, work from a conceptual starting point into the medium that best expresses this exploration of direct study and metaphor. In 2014 Robert became a Work Place artist at The Place, London, having become a Resident artist at Greenwich Dance Agency the previous year and previously associate artist with Dance4.

In 2003 Robert was awarded the Simone Michelle Choreography Award and the following year received a Dance U.K Choreographic Observership to work with Siobhan Davies. Recent commissions include work for EDge, SEAD, Bodhi Project, and Beyond Front@ an internationally supported venture that toured Europe into 2014.

Robert initially trained at the Trinity Laban, London Ba (hons), before going on to complete his training at London Contemporary Dance School with Edge.
