Professional Class: Sonia Rafferty

Influenced by the Limón technique principles of suspension, release, opposition, fall and recovery, Sonia’s personal technical philosophy, grounded in more than thirty years of teaching, also explores the concepts of flow and dynamic effort play. The class progresses through introductory material that promotes clarity of execution, technical rigour and full body articulation, as well as performance awareness by layering in attention to phrasing, musicality and lyricism. This builds towards three-dimensional, expressive sequences that are designed to challenge.
