Professional Class: Shelley Maxwell

Cuban Contemporary is rooted in the Graham Technique. This high energy class combines Graham principles with contemporary movements and utilises polyrhythmic structures that are common in Cuban Contemporary styles.

In the class you will explore numerous principles of contraction and release, as well as incorporating spinal manipulations and travelling sequences. Exercises will explore the shifting of weight through space whilst demanding a sense of attack and musical dynamism. The warm up builds strength and stamina to effectively execute progressions and travelling sequences.
