Practitioner Training - Boys in Dance

Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th April
10:00-17:00

Zoie Golding, Artistic Director of ZoieLogic Dance Theatre, will be joining us for our first continued professional development session of 2020!

Focussing on the development and support of boys in dance, this two day course is designed to give practitioners an opportunity to gain further insight into Zoie Golding's artistic and participatory approach. An inspirational figure within the cultural landscape who has been working tirelessly to promote, support and develop boys dancing for over 20 years, Zoie first began her career by forming an all male youth company, Fuzzy Logic. She now heads up a pioneering, critically acclaimed company in receipt of Arts Council England NPO funding - touring immersive, visionary and highly accessible work around the country, working with strategic partnerships of theatres and organisations to reach those for who access to dance is limited.

Delegates will be given an opportunity to discover Zoie's unique approach to creating sustainable participation methods for boys in dance. Content will be inspired by her specialist training programme ManMade within which Zoie will be offering nuggets of wisdom, tools and techniques used by the team working with all-male youth company FuzzyLogic and her performance company ZoieLogic Dance Theatre.

Drawing from the varied touring experience and projects commissions she has had, Zoie will also spend some time discussing and exploring the challenges presented when asked to work, teach or perform within settings such as youth clubs, pupil referral units, estates and sports clubs - and will be inviting participants to offer up their own ideas in order to offer everyone an expanded toolbox of ideas and new approaches!
